Al Khabbah cliff Resort
The Al Khabbah Resort project is located on the north eastern coast of The Sultanate of Oman, about 50 km south of the city of Sur , facing the Arabian Sea.
The land is nestling on a flat Plateau with two sides surrounded by the Arabian Sea, adjacent to the sandy beach of Al Khabbah Village.
The development is a contemporary arab themed hideaway, with an overlooking to the concepts of wellbeing through the natural elements and oriental traditions.
The resort looms over the cliffs and occasionally cascades to the beach in gentle steps offering breathtaking views of the sea and beaches. It will cater to the guests seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city to a seaside landscape of serenity and tranquility, surrounded by nature elements in an environmental friendly ambient, and to the
adventurous recreational types who seek leisure in sea activities such as fishing, sailing, water-sports and diving; The new architectures of the project will follow the principles of the sustainability and of the local traditions.
The development is phased in three parts and is divided between a 4* hotel, a 5* hotel resort and villas. A variety of facilities are distributed in the area, near the main entrance and in the central part of the development
A central Piazza equipped with social and commerce facilities will identify the heart of the development. Swimming pools, equipped beach access, wellness and treatment centre, gymnasium, restaurants, conference facilities as well as bar and lounge areas are integrated in the Resort.
The Resort has been designed using sustainable principles as an integralpart of the project. The extensive use of stabilized rammed earth and concrete screeds within the walls creates high thermal mass, significantly reducing thermal swings – improving thermal comfort for users and reducing peak cooling loads. Passive thermal heating principles such as insulation, solar shading, insulated glazing and open-able windows, have also been applied; relieving the need for excess auxiliary air conditioning.
Inspired from the local traditional architecture using local materials to blend with nature.
Textures colors and stone as finishing combined with the flexibility and openess of modern architecture. For the Villas there will be generous use of large windows for the sea view, helped by the favorable various orientations given to the existing cliff, followed in the project.
