Renovation of the building with recovery of the attic for residential purposes
The owners wanted a bigger and more efficient home with a more contemporary appearance. Through a building renovation project with the transformation of the attic into residential spaces, the 1950s single-family building has been completely renovated, obtaining a much wider, brighter and more comfortable home. An important energy upgrading of the building took place through the removal and rebuilding of the roof and the construction of the external perimeter coat, Changes that have given the house a significant reduction of energy consumption. Moreover, thanks to the recovery of the attic, the surface has been enlarged, bringing the sleeping area into the attic. Access to the three levels is via internal stairs and / or internal lift. The new attic has been equipped with three dormer windows, from which you can access small terraces built in the thickness of the wall, which even if small have created an outlet to the outside and a green view even in the sleeping area, greatly improving the perception of space and certainly giving greater value to the property! The living area, consisting of 65 square meters of open-space, is instead on the mezzanine floor which can be accessed from the inner courtyard / garden.
Tiziana Gerardi Architect, with her method called Architecturetherapy®, has played a little with the following message: “from outside to inside and from inside to outside” …”light cuts” on the entrance gate and cuts of light inside the house, natural light through the windows and artificial light with the LED lighting, on the ceiling and walls of the living room, along the internal staircase of the house to the sleeping area. In short … a good psychological game with the clients on the analysis of what we are inside and what appears to the outside, of the dark areas of human beings and on the resources of light from which man can draw to be reborn!
